Advisors memberships (dues) must be uploaded by January 31, 2020. You may want to register additional students as dues paying members, to allow for substitutions at the State and National conferences. State conference registration will open February 1, 2020 and competitors must be registered by March 16, 2020.
This year's conference will feature 19 NEW contests spread over TWO days! These new contests include national contests that have never been offered at the state level, additonal middle school contests, and STATE ONLY contests. Below is the Contest List that will be offered along with the TENATIVE date of the contest and location. All contest dates and locations will be finalized by April 1, 2020. Below is a link to the tentative agenda for the 2020 SkillsUSA WV State Leadership & Skills Conference. Please note the change to a TWO-DAY conference. Use the Tentative Agenda along with the Contest List to plan accordingly. The agenda and contest dates and locations will be finalized by April 1, 2020.
The state office application deadline is March 6, 2020. Remember each chapter may submit (2) secondary, (1) post-secondary applications. NEW this year, two-minute speeches and elections will take place during a delegate session PRIOR to Opening Ceremony (5 pm - 6 pm on Friday, April 17th). Candidates WILL NOT be required to give speeches at Opening Session but will be introduced during the Opening Ceremony.
Once again the SkillsUSA WV State Leadership & Skills Conference will be held on the campuses of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community and Technical College. In addition, off-site contest locations will be held at Adanced Technology Center, Monongalia County Technical Education Center, United Technical Center, Bridgeport WV Carpenters Training Center, and RCBI Bridgeport.
